The Tie Dye Club has not met since its initial meeting on Oct. 14 but plans on restarting the club in the second semester.
Alexis Ruggiero and Allixandra “Allie” Daniels, club presidents and sophomores, plan on having another call-out meeting, but they have not scheduled one yet.
“We had difficulty starting simply because of lack of publicity. It takes time to build a new organization,” Kathy Hallett, club sponsor and freshman biology teacher, said via e-mail. “We will probably do more video announcements promoting the club so that people will understand what it is.”
Ruggiero said that the club still plans to tie dye T-shirts for Riley Children’s Hospital and learn new tie dyeing techniques. In addition to making T-shirts for children at Riley, club members can also tie dye items for themselves.
“We just wanted to restart everything fresh,” Ruggiero said.
With a few initial struggles getting the club started, Ruggiero said she hopes the club with be more successful in the new semester.
“Alexis and Allie have a wonderful idea and have a lot of positive energy to share. I will help them in any way to get this club running,” Hallett said. By Rachel Boyd <[email protected]>
