Best Buddies will host a callout meeting on Aug. 31 in main cafeteria during SRT for anyone who is interested in participating in the club this year.
At the callout meeting, students will receive basic information concerning the club and set up an interview time. Interviews will be held on Sept. 7, 9 and 13 in order to determine the eligibility and commitment of interested applicants. Students must submit an application online at bestbuddies.org before their interview.
President Alexia Ohnemus and vice president Theresea Spall will interview prospects then take the next week to decide who will be accepted into the club. The top picks from both the special Ed buddies and the general Ed buddies will be matched up based on the applicant’s interview.
The club’s purpose is to encourage a friendship between special Ed buddies and general Ed buddies inside and outside of school. In particular, the club is looking for male best buddies so that bonds are made easier with same gender matches.
