Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation (CCPR) is scheduled to host the St. Vincent Tour de Carmel on Sept. 11 from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $6 per person, and the last day to pre-register is Aug. 27.
St. Vincent Tour de Carmel is a special event that consists of a 10-mile and 20-mile long bike ride through Carmel. While riding, participants get to rest at locations that offer healthy snacks, drinks and entertainment. Pre-registration ensures a free goodie bag and T-shirt, but registration at the door will be accepted as well.
According to Lindsay Labas, marketing manager for the CCPR, the best way for students to take part in these events is to become involved through active participation and volunteering.
“The best way for them (students) to get involved is through volunteering,” Labas said.
According to Labas, volunteering for the CCPR is also a great way to learn skills that can be applicable later in life.
“The best part of volunteering is that it allows you to learn new skills, meet new people and make a difference within the community,” she said. By Audrey Bailey <[email protected]>
