According to Matt Petersen, co-supervisor of intramural sports and special education teacher, “Basketball is our next [activity] and that’s a big one because it’ll take us usually into sometimes February. It’s going to be 10 weeks long so it’s one of our biggest events. We usually have about 32 teams.”
Petersen said he encourages students to get involved and turn in necessary information early.
“Intramurals are a great way to meet people, but the earlier you get stuff in, the better. We’re doing things a little bit different this year. Now we’re saying that if the first week of games comes around and we don’t have your team fee, all your consent forms, and roster (of 8-10 players), you forfeit that game. Just trying to get everything organized ahead of time,” Petersen said.
After this upcoming tournament, Intramural Sports will sponsor a joint 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament as a fundraiser for Dance Marathon.
