Lifelines will meet on Jan. 22 at 7:05 a.m. in the community room to prepare for Black History Month, which is the month of February.
According to sponsor Rebekah Overbey, the members of the club still need to meet and decide events for Black History Month.
“(It’s about) tearing down the walls, learning to work together and seeing how that can make a difference in our society,” she said.
Overbey said the club is also planning to bring back Choose to Live.
“(We plan to) bring back Choose to Live and have people start signing contracts saying that they’re going to make good choices for themselves,” she said. “If you choose not to do drugs or alcohol, you’re choosing to save your life and possibly the lives of others.”
Member and junior Eileen Chou said she is looking forward to the events of second semester.
“I hope to be able to reach out to more people,” she said. “I also hope to be able to be more involved this semester toward making people more aware (of their decisions).”
