Best Buddies will have its Valentine’s dance on Feb. 14 at CHS in the main cafeteria from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be available. Transportation will not be provided. Best Buddies sponsor Dana Lawrence said the club’s last meeting at Laser Flash went very well.
Lawrence said via email, “We had a good turn out at Laser Flash and the kids had fun.”
Abbey Wiggam, club member and junior, said she attended this meeting.
She said, “I don’t think we’ve ever done that before, so I really liked how we can all play games together. We mostly played the arcade games, and it was really fun.”
Wiggam said she is also excited for the Valentine’s dance and hopes everyone else has just as much enthusiasm.
She said, “I hope that everyone will dance, because sometimes some people don’t dance. But it’s really fun when we all dance together.”
The club’s next event after this dance is its karaoke fundraiser, which will be after school on Feb. 27, ending at 5 p.m. Money raised from this event will go into the club’s funds. Lawrence said pizza will be available to club members for $1 per slice, ordered from Domino’s Pizza.
Wiggam said she plans to go to this event as well.
Wiggam said, “(I expect) a lot of singing, just a lot of everyone being together and having fun. I hope that a lot of people show up. Sometimes, for afterschool events, not as many people can come, but I hope a lot of people come.”
