Best Buddies recently had its karaoke night on Feb. 27 after school in the main cafeteria. The club will have its next chapter meeting some time later this month, but the date and location of the meeting have not yet been determined, according to club sponsor Dana Lawrence.
Abbey Wiggam, club member and junior, said she enjoyed the karaoke event, which was also the first one she has attended for the club. Club members sang many pop songs, including music by singer-songwriter Katy Perry, according to Wiggam.
She said, “It was really fun. A lot of people showed up and we all sang together.”
Lawrence said the club also raised a lot of money during the event for their fundraiser.
She said, “I think it went really well. Everyone had a good time, and I think we raised a lot of money.”
Wiggam said she hopes the club has another karaoke event in the future, but she said the club could make some changes to improve it.
“I really hope (we do it again), because everyone loves karaoke,” Wiggam said. “A sign-up sheet (would be better), so that we all know when everybody’s singing, but otherwise it was really fun.”
