As most seniors finish putting together their college applications, the focus now turns to waiting for the results.
“For most colleges, the deadlines for applications are at the end of this month,” Senior Class sponsor Jen Williams said. “Everyone is really excited about getting into college.”
As for the seniors, the majority are relieved that they are done filling out the application, particularly the essays.
“College applications are a very long and tedious process,” senior and GKOM Matt Flaherty said. “The application includes personal information, grades, activities, test scores and normally a few essays. The worst part is trying to get the essays to be perfect, but once you are done, you have a great feeling of satisfaction.”
According to Williams, some schools have already started to send out their acceptance letters, including Butler and Purdue. As for Flaherty, however, the wait is just beginning.
“I applied to a couple of schools, including Georgetown and Boston College,” he said. “I’m not nervous, just a little anxious. I haven’t heard back from anyone yet since I just sent them in over break.” By Ryan Zukerman <[email protected]>
