The Paws4Cause Club is planning several activities for both its members and students outside of the club.
The club members are consulting the administration on a plan to hang posters around the school. The aim of these posters would be to point out several companies that have been known to test their products on animals.
The club is waiting for approval before proceeding to create the posters, although the members plan to draw templates for such posters at their meeting today.
The club has also planned a movie event on Jan. 22. This movie event is open to all students, not just members of the club. Attendees will watch “The Cove,” a movie about cruelty to dolphins in the city of Taiji, Japan.
As usual, the club encourages its members who are 16 or older to attend an orientation at the local Humane Society in order to be able to work hands-on with animals. This orientation will occur on Jan. 28.
Paws4Cause has no other planned events for the future. Patti Balchan, teacher and club sponsor, said, “We’re more immediate right now. Posters, movies, all that. No long term plans.”
If interested in the club or its activities, students can pick up an information sheet or speak to Balchan in Room E204 at any time. By Nick Johnson <[email protected]>
