The Carmel Aquatic Center, located at CHS, is now open for lap swims. Students and faculty members here receive free admission.
Kinsey Wallace, Carmel Aquatic Center director, said the students and faculty members should use the CHS Aquatic Center because unlike the Monon Center’s pool, the CHS pool is more spacious, and everyone can get his or her own lane without any difficulties.
“If the pool is open for laps, you can just come on down and get in a lane,” Wallace said.
Additionally, the Aquatic Center is looking for lifeguards for its swimming pool and instructors for swim classes. According to Wallace, both positions pay; interested applicants must be certified and interviewed.
Caroline Inman, swim team member and senior, said she loves her job as a swim instructor. Inman said she enjoys interacting with children as well as swimming, so it was a natural fit for her.
The Aquatic Center also offers swim classes available to children and adults. More information can be found at its website: http://www.carmelswimclub.org/. By Ben Anderson <[email protected]>
