Paws4Cause will possibly have six more meetings every other Tuesday at Room E204 by the end of the school year. Before that date, the club will have several activities and events planned out.
On Feb. 8, the club will be cutting ribbons or stickers to show support to the Humane Society. On Feb. 14, the members will watch a documentary or a movie from the Humane Society, and perhaps, according to club sponsor Patricia Balchan, a speaker from the Humane Society will visit. The members will then plan another bake sale and sign up for shifts by Feb. 22. The baking itself will take place at one of the members’ houses, possibly at the house of club president and senior Charu Dwivedi, according to herself. Finally, the members will sell their commodities over a three-day course beginning from Feb. 28 to March 2.
“I hope that people come, and that we have good participation for the bake sale,” Balchan said.
During the month of March, the club will discuss about the people who would like to continue on next year and determine future club officers. Dwivedi, club co-president Anita Wang, and vice-president/treasurer Katie Moorman will be finishing their senior year, and new club members will take their places based on popular vote. The club members will prepare for another dog wash on March 8 and will discuss various activities they may do before spring break. During that same date, the club will donate its bake sale earnings and have their last movie night.
April 26 will be the club’s last official meeting, and according to Balchan, the members will have a party. Not everything has been determined, and the events are prone to change. On May 17, there may be a possibility of an unofficial meeting, according to Dwivedi.
Dwivedi said, “At the end of the year, I just hope to accomplish a united club so before we leave we will have a few members stepping in for our roles and being the future leaders of Paws4Cause.” By Lucas Han
