The Paws4Cause Club has planned many activities for the end of this year. At last meeting, the club members watched the animal documentary “The Cove”. They also made bracelets to sell at the booth the club plans to have at Houndstock. The club also plans to sell puppy chow and other items at the booth.
Paws4Cause has invited a guest speaker from the Humane Society to speak in Room E204 on April 27. The guest speaker will be open to all students.
The clubs largest planned event is a community dog wash. The event will be held on April 24 from 10a.m. to 2p.m. at the Carmel Fire Station at 540 W. 136th St. Prices will be either $10, $15, or $20 depending on the size of the dog.
Charu Dwivedi, Paws4Cause cofounder and junior, said, “We thought it would be a good idea to make some money…we sat down at the beginning of the year and came up with the idea, so it was just a matter of when.”
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Humane Society of Hamilton County.
Paws4Cause teacher sponsor Patti Balchan has said that the club will place more emphasis on the monthly Humane Society orientation program next year. The orientation allows club members over 16 to participate hands-on with animals. By Nick Johnson <[email protected]>
