Fellowship of Student Athletes members pray during a small group meeting on March 10. Club Sponsor Jason Cirrincione said there are typically 10 to 25 students at the club’s small group meetings and upwards of 75 students at the club’s large group meetings.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) members plan to host their next meeting on March 13. According to club sponsor Jason Cirrincione, club members meet on Fridays at 8:15 a.m. in the Freshman Cafeteria, and a smaller group of students meet on Tuesdays at 8:15 a.m. in Room C117 for a devotional.
“The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is an opportunity for students who either have a background of Christianity or are seeking out to understand more about it, but it’s really more about coming together and finding a community,” Cirrincione said.
Jack Armstrong, FCA student leader and junior, said he enjoys the community FCA brings.
“I would say my favorite part of the club is our Friday morning (meetings),” Armstrong said. “We have donuts and you get to have discussions and sometimes (guest) speakers; it’s just such a good way to kick off your Friday morning.”
Evan Achterberg, FCA student leader and junior, said he agreed with Armstrong and said he also enjoys getting the opportunity to be a part of the FCA student leadership.
“Our leadership team is so great, and I feel like we all connect really well and work together,” Achterberg said. By Mady Kiser
