CHS’ Hip Hop Club is finishing up its fall semester with its final weekly meetings. The club is also planning for the spring semester, which will include long-term charitable events.
Jane Yu, Hip Hop Club president and junior, said she encourages students to attend the meetings and join the club. “It helps me to be confident, to express (myself), and to inspire,” Yu said. During the weekly meetings, members can practice their own dance routines and put on their own music. The weekly meetings will continue through the end of the year. The club plans to host its annual ND Battle again this year, where the club will put dance towards charity, as well as a charitable collaboration with Smile Train.
Allison Hargrove, Hip Hop Club sponsor, said she encourages students to attend the events. “It is an outlet for self-expression and creativity,” Hargrove said. “Our kids are really talented and passionate.”
