Ethan Abbott, soccer player and senior, participates in a scrimmage during practice. The team frequently does scrimmages to prepare for games and build their communication skills.

On Sept.13, the men’s soccer team will host their Senior Night as they face North Central High School at 7 p.m. at Murray Stadium. In addition to being Senior Night, the game against North Central is one of the team’s biggest rivalry games this season.

According to Head Coach Shane Schmidt, he enjoys rivalry games because many of the players already come in with a very focused mindset. Schmidt said the coaches generally have to do much less to get players excited and in the zone for games like the one against North Central.

Max Toubin, soccer player and senior, said the North Central game is already one of the most exciting games for the team, so having it be Senior Night only adds to the fun.

Toubin said, “It’s going to be an interesting game because it is also Senior Night, so all of us are going to get a lot of minutes and it’s going to be a good time.”
