Mark Zhang and Rohit Nagaraj, varsity tennis players and seniors, shake hands with their opponents from Homestead on Sept. 23. The men’s tennis team will be playing for their seventh consecutive Semi State title at Culver on Oct. 8.

The men’s tennis team will be playing in Semi State at Culver Academy on Saturday, Oct. 8. The team is looking to win their seventh consecutive Semi-State Champion title.

“We have been successful for six years in a row, and I think that this team can continue that pattern. I feel very confident for our chances to succeed at Semi State this weekend,” said Head Coach Spencer Fields.

If the team wins Semi State, then they will be able to continue onto the State Finals, which they have attended 12 times. According to Fields, the ultimate goal will be to win a state championship for the first time in four years; for the past three years, North Central has won state over Carmel.

“As a senior and a first time varsity play on the team, I am very excited and hopeful that this team will bring home a state title for us. I feel pretty confident that we will succeed at Culver for Semi State. We just need to focus on Park Tudor and North Central at (State) Finals,” said Jay Natarajan, varsity player and senior.
