As the year comes to a close, many juniors are accessing resources to prepare for the college admissions process in the fall of the next academic school year. The counseling department, on their Canvas page, includes a checklist for the summer before senior year.

 Throughout the year, the College and Career Center is open to everyone needing any help or advice regarding future plans and goals.

According to counselor John Moorehead, it’s important to look at the counseling module for resources and information. He further explained that students can sign up for an appointment with College and Career counselors by emailing a counselor or signing up through Canvas. Moorehead said he recommends students to sign up for meetings to prepare for the college admissions process.

Moorehead said, “I’d recommend rising juniors to look at Naviance and explore the careers and colleges they might want to attend.”

According to junior Chelsea Meng, her counselor meeting helped her understand the things she needs to do to prepare for college applications and senior year. Meng said she wants to participate in the Transition to College program (TCP) because it would allow her free time to complete other work.
