Debate team members will travel to their fifth competition of their competition season on Jan. 7. The team will prepare for the competition during after school practices, according to debate team adviser James Ziegler.

“I am really excited for our next competition,” Ziegler said. “Our team is very well prepared and is more than competitive with the other schools.”

According to Ziegler, the debate team district meet will take place on Jan. 27 and 28.

“The district meet is very important. We would like to do as well as possible because it decided who participates at the national level,” Ziegler said. The team had three debate students participate nationally last year.

Ray Qian, debate team member and senior said, “Our debates have been very exciting. Everyone who participated did very well. I cannot wait for our next chance to prove ourselves.”
