The CHS debate team does not have any new debate competitions planned for the month of December besides the one at LaPorte High School, according to club sponsor Nicole Palmer. However, she said the team does have several meets coming up in January.
The team members also recently won the novice division at their debate at Brebeuf, giving them an improved boost, according to Jiahao Zhou, club member and sophomore.
“The team is coming along very well in terms of teamwork, which can be hard to do at times since they debate individually or in pairs,” Palmer said.
Practices have been improving as well.
Zhou said, “I think that the practices have been good, I see a lot more teamwork since we started at the beginning of the year.”
