Duncan plans to have a forum of experts speak to the club members. These speakers will include professionals on diabetes advocacy and treatment.
While the club does not meet frequently, Duncan said the purpose of the club is to serve as a community for those afflicted with the condition.
“It’s more about the community of everyone who has diabetes to come together and learn about it,” Duncan said. “It’s a pretty easy going club.”
Patty Antle, club sponsor and nurse, said she encourages any student interested in learning about diabetes to come to a meeting. The club meets in the main health center.
