Cabinet is working on promoting and preparing for Trick or Treat for Riley this Saturday Oct. 25. The event will take place in the Freshman Cafeteria from 2-4 p.m. Cabinet and House of Representatives members will work together to create 18 different stations at which they will pass out candy, create activities and work a haunted house for children in the community.

According to Theodore (Teddy) Browning, Cabinet member and junior, the event is different from other Cabinet events because it features young children instead of teenagers. Browning said the most difficult part of the event is the promotion.

“(We promote by) telling neighbors about it who (we) know have young kids, putting flyers on bulletin boards and putting flyers in peoples’ mailboxes,” Browning said.

Cabinet sponsor Sarah Wolff said that the event is donation based, and it does not cost the parents anything for their children to attend the event. The money raised does benefit goes toward Carmel Dance Marathon and ultimately Riley Children’s Hospital.

Wolff said, “A lot of families take their kids to this because it is their first trick-or-treating experience.”
