In the early days of November, most homes seem to have an abundance of one good: candy. Whether it’s candy from trick-or-treating or from handing out candy, everyone seems to have leftover Halloween candy lying around the house. While I didn’t go trick-or-treating this year (supposedly, I’m too old), I do have extra Halloween candy that my parents didn’t hand out, so I decided to review one from the bunch. Although I had already tried many of the varieties my parents bought, there was one variety I had neither tried nor heard of: the Snickers Almond Bar. I decided to give it a try.
The Snickers Almond Bar has similar components to the regular Snickers Bar – a chocolate coating with a layer and caramel and a layer of nougat. The only difference seems to be that the Snickers Almond Bar contains almonds instead of peanuts.

I like Snickers and I like almonds, so I thought I’d enjoy Snickers Almond Bars. My hunch was confirmed when I took my first bite.
The Snickers Almond Bar tastes very similar to a regular Snickers Bar. The major difference lies in that the Snickers Almond Bar simply has an almond flavor rather than a peanut one. Also, the crunch of an almond has a different feel from that of a peanut, so the texture is reflected in the candy bar as a whole.
Snickers Almond Bars are perfect for people like me, who like both Snickers and almonds. Although the Snicker Almond Bar is certainly not a masterpiece of the candy industry, it’s a simple but satisfying twist on a classic candy bar.
As for the rest of the leftover Halloween candy, there are quite a bit of old favorites strewn in the mix as well, so I’m sure I’ll have enough candy to last me a while.
