Nearing the halfway point of the second semester of the 2025-2026 academic year, this school’s School Resource Officers (SROs) have been busy implementing new safety procedures.
“(The SROs have) had several safety meetings where we’re kind of trying to help safety around the building,” SRO Ashley Williams said. “We have privacy shares that have gone up in a lot of classrooms on the doors and we’re trying to tighten up some more security (around the school.”
Senior Ami Riggins said the privacy shades in classrooms make her feel as though school is a more safe environment.
“Lots of dangerous things can happen in schools,” Riggins said. “Having anything to increase safety just makes people feel more comfortable.” By Evelyn Foster.
