Yearbook members will distribute yearbooks May 11-14.
“We’ll do lunch every day, during SSRT on Gold Days, and then after school on Tuesday and Wednesday,” Pinnacle adviser Claire Burke said.
Burke also said they finalized the spring supplement to the yearbook.
“(The spring supplement is) any of those spring events that we can’t cover in the actual book, so spring sports and topics like preparing for prom and Dance Marathon,” she said. “Anything big that kind of happens in the spring.”
Bhavana Rupakula, Pinnacle editor in chief and senior, said finishing the spring supplement was a tight deadline.
“It’s been a stressful few weeks,” she said. “We had a little bit of a hiccup with some things, but we submitted (the yearbook) to the printing plant and now we’re just going to decompress.”
Rupakula said the spring supplement gets published at a smaller local company rather than the larger printer which produces the main yearbook.
“Our main printer is Varsity, and they’re based out of Kansas City,” she said. “They’re the main printers for the book, and the supplement is actually printed through a local printer. They arrive in separate boxes, and so when we get the main books we like, we open both boxes and then add the spring supplement at the end of the big book.”
Rupakala said Pinnacle is planning to distribute around 3,000 yearbooks.
“We always order extra, because there are people that may want to buy some at the moment. We sell books (in the Pinnacle room) during distribution,” she said. “People can buy them right then and there if they didn’t make the deadline.” By Allison Washburn
