The men’s tennis team captured its seventh State championship with a victory over the North Central Panthers at North Central on October 15th.
Head Coach Mike Bostic said, “We had a gut check today and we got it done. The team showed its strength with Sameer, Charlie, Patrick and Chris stepping up to put us in the Final.”
The team defeated Park Tudor 3-2 in the Semi-final and defeated North Central by a score of 5-0 in the State Final to clinch its seventh championship and second championship in a row.
Despite the success from this year, people are already looking ahead. Captain and Senior Elliott Yee said, “I’m proud of what we’ve done this year, but I’m looking forward to going on to bigger opportunities in the future.”
Yee said, “I’m a little upset because I wasn’t able to win an individual title, but as a team we accomplished our goal and I’m really proud of us.”
“Winning State in Indiana is one difficult feat,” Bostic said. “But we did it and I couldn’t be more proud of the team.”
