CEF telethon provides grants to 2 Carmel teachers

The annual Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) telethon successfully provided grants to Carmel teachers Margaret Winans and Kelly Douglas. The telethon showcased Carmel Clay School ensembles and choirs, and CHTV broadcasted the program live via Channel 99.

“The performing arts showcase was so interesting to watch,” freshman Sara Mauck said.

Winans received a grant from Ingersoll Rand for finch robots for computer science classes. Kelly Douglas received her grant from the Dr. Barbara Underwood Grant for the Carmel Learning Center for the Philanthropic Writing Project.

“Ms. Thorpe and her students developed the telethon performing arts showcase video that is now available for viewing on YouTube,” CEF director Dorothy Ilgen said.
