Global Giving is continuing to plan the showcase which is going to take place in March or April, according to sponsor Ryan Ringenberg.
The past few years, Global Giving has hosted Carmel’s Best Dance Crew, but because Hip-Hop Club isn’t as large as it used to be, it has decided to change the dance competition to a showcase.
Co-president and junior Jessica Chiang said, “We’re not doing Carmel’s Best Dance Crew anymore, but we’re doing a new event and it’s hopefully going to be like a really informal talent showcase, so there’s not the pressure of needing to be extremely well prepared and having judges. I think it’ll just be easier on everyone.”
The proceeds collected from this event will benefit Operation Smile, an organization that raises money to give surgeries to kids with cleft palate.
Chiang said, “People should come [to the showcase] because if you have a cool talent, you will be helping out kids with cleft palate.”
