Homework Helpers’ presidents look back on the year and plan for next year

Homework Helpers Club presidents are looking back on how the year went. The presidents hope to make many changes in the next year to get more popularity among students and to have more meetings to have more interaction between members.

Co-president and junior Abby Fields said, “Next year, I want there to be more members by reaching out more to the students.”

Co-president and junior Brooke Hosfeld said she wants to have more people join the club since they never heard about anyone else who joined this year.

Furthermore, Fields said she suggested a couple new changes. She hopes to increase club meetings to make it easier for members to share their experiences and have a set time to sign up.

“We would like a meeting every month or so at school just to see how everything’s going and keeping in touch,” Fields said.

The only major conflict to this was timing and availability to hold a club meeting.

“It was difficult to do that this year because of lack of time, and I work a job every day after school apart from when I help out. It’s difficult to get time off other than what has already been planned,” Fields said.

The club will have to undergo many changes to be ready for the next school year. According to sponsor Leslie McCarty, she plans to have more advertising for next year.

She also wishes to be able to contact every member even though as she stated before, “The school is only an outlet for students to volunteer.”

Hosfeld agrees that there needs to be new changes, and along with Fields, she hopes to increase the popularity of the club.

“My favorite part is just making a difference in kids’ lives and possibly giving them a new way to learn that they didn’t know yet. It brings joy to my life to see a kid smile,” Fields said.
