Ellington said that he is anticipating the rest of the tournament season with meets such as the Sectional, Regional, Semistate and State. He said that he is proud of how the girls ran during the regular season and believes that his team can go for the State championship. Ellington said that it would be very interesting to see how the girls will run during the rest of the tournament season.
“I would like to see how well our team can stack up with the rest of the state,” Ellington said.
Gina Genco, varsity runner and junior, is also excited for the girls during their post-season journey to the State meet. Genco believes that the team members are able to not only qualify for the State meet but win it as well. She also said that she has high expectations for not only herself but also for the rest of the team.
“I feel excited for the tournament season. I am ready to continue forward for the rest of the season,” Genco said.
