Diver and sophomore Christian Smith pauses at the base of the board before performing his dive. He will be competing at the Warrior Diving Invitational on Dec. 14.
On Dec. 14, the men’s diving team will be participating in the Warrior Diving Invitational at Whiteland. Competing schools include: Westfield, Center Grove and Heritage Christian.
Although the divers have been training with dry land workouts such as weights, running and conditioning, Head Coach Chad Trenshaw is unsure of a victory.
“Over all team-wise, I don’t know what the chances are with Whiteland. Whiteland will probably have three or four elite divers. There might be possibility at Whiteland,” he said.
On the other hand, diver and senior Charles Binion said he is optimistic about his own individual performance. “I’ve made it to the finals all three years,” he said. “Tomorrow I will be anticipating making finals as well.”
