Head Coach Richard Reid works on paperwork in order to get ready for the season. Reid said that he is very excited for the season.
Tryouts for the men’s golf team will take place through March 21. According to Head Coach Richard Reid, tryouts will be held at Brookshire Golf Course until the team is narrowed down to 30 golfers. The remaining days of tryouts will be held at Prairie View Golf Course.
“Golf tryouts are a lot more objective than other sports. The most important factor we consider is the scores that guys post each day,” Reid said.
In terms of getting ready for the season, Reid said the team has been working hard.
“Most of the guys spend a lot of time throughout the winter working with their pros and practicing at enclosed facilities. Obviously, the weather has prevented them from getting out on a real course until recently,” Reid said.
Sophomore Clark Langois, who plans on trying out for the 2014 golf team, said he is excited for tryouts this year.
“I am a lot more prepared and understand the process much better than I did last year,” Langlois said.
