The CHS Senior Class has not scheduled any events recently, according to Senior Class sponsor Ann Mayhew. Prom is the next event to be set in stone. Senior Class president Krishna Pathak confirmed that the Senior Class is not planning anything new. Despite the recent inactivity of the Senior Class, Pathak said he believes he is still fulfilling his duties.

“The premise of my campaign was to approach whatever the formal duties were with my full pride and energy and not just do it like a five-minute school assignment, upholding the nonexistent perception of class officers. Among these formal responsibilities were raising money during Homecoming week, going across senior SRTs to raise money for our grade’s charity, the CCPL, and also win the competition against the other class officers teams, such as the juniors and their charity,” Pathak said. “I put full energy into this, and that is why we emerged victorious, having even raised over $300 in one single SRT session. I don’t walk into an SRT and in a monotone voice ask for donations. That is approaching my job like a five minute assignment.”

Pathak also said his position as Senior Class president also allows him to be seated upon the Principal’s Advisory Committee (PAC).

“A campaign promise of mine was to make that more prevalent, and I’ve done that by making sure every senior I know is aware if they have any ideas on how to change our school policy for the better, they can tell me, and have my assurance it will be brought up with Principal Williams face-to-face,” Pathak said.

He described a particular incident in which he brought an issue to Principal Williams.

“Multiple seniors I knew complained of a lack of time in first semester for college apps, some with circumstances preventing them from having adequate computer access outside of school,” Pathak said. “I took that into mind, brought it on PAC on behalf of my seniors, and that is why in first semester the media center, in cooperation with the Counseling office, began to allow private/reserved college application times both before, during and after school in the media center labs with counselors available on site for any help needed. This did not exist before my term, and it does now.”

As for the periods of inactivity, Pathak said each class officer team is seasonal in activity.
