Planetarium Club’s schedule is currently in limbo due to computer problems.
With the recent addition of two new HD projectors, the computers have had trouble adjusting to the output of six GB. The high output has caused the computers to be slow and sometimes crash. However, it is all part of the process according to Diana Gorin, senior and club member.
“With any new electronic equipment you get, it could take a while to learn how to use it properly and for it work seamlessly,” said Gorin.
Keith Turner, planetarium director and club sponsor, said he expects the computers should be up to speed soon, with the issues being labeled as just “growing pains.” Turner plans on getting better video cards to help improve the computers, with help coming from video gamers. “Thank god for gamers. Gamers push the limit on video cards. That helps me because it drives the price on the equipment we need down,” said Turner.
