According to club sponsor Matthew Dillon, Academic Superbowl competitions in this season are starting to begin. There are two invitational competitions in March. Traditionally, CHS has gone to Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School and Ben Davis High School. In April, there is a regional competition at Beach Grove High School. After regionals, if CHS is one of the top seven schools in Indiana, then the team would move on to the state competition.
“Carmel High School students always performs well for Academic Superbowl. Usually, there’s one squad that qualifies for the state competition every year, and that says a lot about the quality of students that we have here at Carmel High School” Dillon said.
According to member and senior Kevin Mi, the most important competition is the state competition.
“The main competitions are in March and April,” Mi said. “My goal would be to do well in our competitions and make it to state and maybe do well at state.”
