“Most likely at this point, we’ll meet after Spring Break and hopefully set up a meeting early-May or late-April,” Elizabeth Sprague, club sponsor and Spanish teacher, said.
According to Sprague, this meeting will celebrate Cinco de Mayo, the date of Mexico’s victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla. At this point, however, Spanish Club has not yet determined the date for the celebration.
In addition to the Cinco de Mayo celebration, Spanish Club also has a restaurant outing planned, according to Marisa Arakawa, club president and senior. “We’ll be going to a Cuban restaurant sometime at the end of the year before finals week,” Arakawa said.
Sprague said, “We’re really excited for our Cinco de Mayo celebration, since we’ve been pretty inactive, and we will let the students know the date as soon as possible.”
