According to Senate sponsor Michelle Foutz, Senate members are beginning to think about Care to Share, which she said begins in early November.
Every year, Senate members at CHS organize Care to Share, a holiday-oriented fundraising program affiliated with the United Way of Central Indiana’s (http://www.uwci.org) United Christmas Service Program. The program is set up so that SRTs are able to make donations in order to buy gifts for families that are below the poverty line.
Senior Senator Neil Shah also said that because Homecoming week is over, Care to Share is the main focus of Senate members at this time.
“As we hit the holiday season we’ll be going to classes, securing the gifts and coordinating all of that. It’s going to be a hectic time, but it’s one of the most fun events we do,” Shah said.
Shah said his favorite parts of Care to Share are when Senate members get to go hand-deliver the gifts to the families and see their reactions.
“I love our room being full of gifts and knowing that we are really making a difference,” Shah said.
