Senate finalizes details of Care to Share

According to Senate sponsor Michelle Foutz, Senate members are figuring out the final details of Care to Share. Care to Share is an annual event put on at CHS by Senate members. Care to Share at CHS is part of the United Way of Central Indiana’s Christmas Assistance Program (http://www.uwci.org/programs/ united-christmas-service). Foutz said senate members are finalizing the total number of people that CHS will be supporting, and then senate members will complete the submission from for the United Way of Central Indiana.

Senior Senator Neil Shah also said that Care to Share is Senate’s only significant focus at this time. Shah said that any SRT at CHS can raise money and sponsor a fourth of a person, a half of a person or a whole person. Shah said the amount that must be raised for each level is $75, $150 and $300, respectively. After each SRT has raised enough money, Shah said they buy the gifts, wrap them, then they deliver them to the Senate SRT.

“One of the parts that I really like is when our entire room is filled with gifts and it’s cool seeing how much work people put into it, wrapping them and making them look awesome,” Shah said. “The entire classroom is just filled wall to wall with stuff that we’re going to be able to give to underprivileged families.”
