Fantasy sports club kicks off with professional football

The Fantasy Sports Club participates in a fantasy football league online. Club member created their own team and can update their individual teams by going to the Yahoo Sports web page and signing in.

It is too late to join the fantasy football league, but the Fantasy Sports Club participates in competitions concerning nearly every sport that people wish to take part in.

Nikhil Ramakrishnan, co-president, senior, and also four year member of the Fantasy Sports Club said, “The next sport that we will do will be NBA basketball.”

Mike Meyer, sponsor of the Fantasy Sports Club, said, “We are involved in just about every popular sport in America. Some of the sports that we have done in the past are NCAA football and basketball, professional football, baseball and even hockey. Golf and NASCAR have even been considered.”

Meyer said he only establishes the guidelines for the club, makes sure others follow the rules, and gives advice to the members. Co-presidents Ramakrishnan and Jacob Hall help create the online leagues, manage the leagues and competitions, and occasionally set up meetings.

Ramakrishnan said, “We will do almost any sport that enough people show interest in.”

One event that could be coming up soon will be Survival Mode football. Meyer described Survival Mode as a type of competition where participants choose a professional team to win for each week, and if their team loses, they get eliminated from the competition. If anyone is interested in this type of competition, please express your interest so that the club members can consider it.

If anyone is interested in participating in Fantasy Sports, stop by room A213 and ask for Meyer.

Meyer said, “Anyone who wants to is always welcome to join.”
