Math department chair Jacinda Sohalski quietly works at her desk. In the following week, she will be working with teachers to prepare for the upcoming school year.

The math department is currently preparing students for exams, according to math department chairperson Jacinda Sohalski. Sohalski said that the department has been preparing students for both course tests and final exams.

“We’re kind of in full tilt mode right now for exams and getting kids ready for IB and AP exams,” Sohalski said. “And our regular level teachers are just trying to wrap up and revisit final exams.”

Furthermore, Sohalski said that the department’s teachers have been preparing for next year. She said that teachers have been meeting with their teams and talking about what to change for the upcoming school year.

“We’re probably as ready to wrap up the school year as you guys are,” Sohalski said.

Joey Herons, Math Club president and junior, said he is optimistic for the upcoming school year. “I think the math department was very good last semester, and I believe they will be better in this semester,” Herons said.
