After a successful October meeting, National Honor Society (NHS) is sharing volunteer opportunities at Clay Terrace and Conner Prairie Headless Horseman with its members. NHS is also finalizing preparations for the Ghost and Goblins 2K/5K.
NHS sponsor Allison Malloy said, “(The volunteer opportunities offered to NHS members are) completely up to the year and who asks us to volunteer and who we reach out to. The one that we always work with is the Carmel Education Foundation, they run the Ghosts and Goblins (run). They’re always working with us and they’re someone that we give back to. When we donate, every year, after Ghosts and Goblins we donate the extra candy. There is a local dentist who takes that candy and has a fundraiser for it, I think it’s Candy for Troops or something like that.”
NHS member and senior Jo Matsumoto said the club had a virtual meeting in October and NHS has not determined future meeting dates yet.
He said besides that, upcoming fall volunteer opportunities consist of Conner Prairie Headless Horseman and other activities at Clay Terrace.
