On Feb. 13, the A, B and C teams placed 1st, 2nd and 4th, respectively, in the Science Bowl regional competition, according to club sponsor Virginia Kundrat. The A team, which placed first in the competition, will advance to Nationals.
This year, the virtual competition took place over Zoom, according to club president and senior Noah Tan. Because of the virtual setting, moderators and judges were selected from across the United States.
Kundrat said via email, “With the virtual format we actually had judges and moderators from across the country—Maryland, Seattle, Virginia, and a number of volunteers from Eli Lilly.”
According to Tan, the A team will continue to practice for Nationals in the next few weeks.
“Whether the national competition is in-person or virtual will be decided by March 1st,” Tan said.
