With the second semester of the 2025-2026 school year underway, Superintendent Tom Oestreich said the school is making strides to meet strategic planning goals.

“In February, we’re having our Director of Special Services present to the board and give an update on the overall programmatic offerings we have and how we serve our students with disabilities. So we’re shifting to that focus,” Oestreich said. “In March, we’re going to have the Carmel Education Foundation come in and provide a workshop and talk about partnerships and community. As I shared previously,  communication and community engagement is one of our main pillars in the strategic plan and the Carmel Education Foundation is such an important partner with us here in Carmel Clay Schools. So we’ll be working on pillar 1 in February and pillar 5 in March.”

Senior Nina Godbole said she appreciates the school’s partnership with the Carmel Education Foundation and the scholarships they provide to students.

“I know about the Carmel Education Foundation because they give out tons of scholarships for seniors for college,” Godbole said. “I’m glad the school is close to them as it gives seniors like me more ways to pay for college.”

  Oestreich said technology is also a pillar being explored and that individual school improvement plans aid in the implementation of the district strategic plan.
