The orchestras are planning to perform its fall concert Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.
According to associate orchestra director James Woomert, this is the orchestra’s second concert of the fall. The first concert was a joint concert with Pioneer Orchestra from Ann Arbor, MI on Oct. 15.
According to trumpeter and junior Michael Lu, the orchestra has been preparing since the beginning of the school year for this concert.
“I think this concert is mainly just to introduce the new orchestra, since a lot of the members are new this year,” he said.
According to Lu, the pieces the orchestra will be performing are Wagner’s “Overture to Rienzi” and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 2.”
As for the first concert, according to violist and junior Kavya Sankhavaram, the concert was a learning experience.
“It was really good,” she said. “It was weird working with a director different than Mr. Han, but it was an interesting experience. It was cool to see how (the other director) worked different than us.”
