Greyhound Connections is planning to make “birthday boxes” for children in shelters from domestic violence in the Indianapolis area. According to Peter Marshall, Greyhound Connections co-president and senior, the boxes will be filled with party hats, balloons, birthday candles, streamers, and small presents.
The assignment of getting the small gifts and party favors will be designated to a member of the organization. Then, the Greyhound Connections members will put together the boxes during their SRT.
The Greyhound Connections members feel that small services like these are an important part of their organization’s mission.
According to member Laura Marshall, “Birthdays are so much fun and it would stink if they couldn’t have parties because of certain circumstances, so I’m excited we get to help with that.”
