The last Astronomy Club meeting of the year will be May 10 during SRT, according to club sponsor Keith Turner.
During this meeting, members will discuss final details for the end of the year, as well as the transit of Venus viewing on June 5, during which members will set up telescopes outside the school from the afternoon until nighttime.
“I’m still waiting on details regarding (the transit of Venus viewing),” Turner said.
“I don’t think it will be much different from the other time we had telescopes out, but we don’t know exactly how things are going to go just yet,” Yanying Chen, club president and sophomore, said.
According to Turner, the club also plans to have a planetarium show in May about the transit of Venus but has not yet decided on a date.
