UNICEF holds Homecoming bake sale Sept. 21

United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) will hold its meeting on Sept. 19 during which club members will be discussing details for the upcoming Homecoming booth on Sept. 21.

The booth will be raising money by selling baked goods such as brownies and cupcakes. The meeting will be determing who will run the booth and who will bake. They will also be making locker signs and take suggestions for future events. The money from this event will be used to fund future events that the club will do. Tiffany Yeh, treasurer and secretary of UNICEF, she hopes that the bake sale will be able to raise $40 to $60.

According to UNICEF sponsor Jill Noel, one of the goals for this year will be to raise more money and have an increase in club members.

“I would like to see the number of students that join go up,” Noel said. Last year UNICEF club raised over $200, Yeh said at last week’s callout meeting. “It would be nice if we could raise 100,” Noel said. “Our main goal is to get more people aware of all of the things they can do for children who are less fortunate than we are, and raise enough money to support them. We’re also looking to expand our club do more with it,” Yeh said via Facebook.
