Share The Music Club scheduled to meet Nov. 20, perform at nursing home Dec. 1

Share The Music Club is scheduled to meet during SRT on Nov. 20. According to Sunhee Han, club president and senior, club members will discuss upcoming events for the holiday season, including a performance on Dec. 1 at Summer Trace Nursing Home. Club members will provide a free concert for the elderly, according to Han.

“The purpose of the club is to share music with people in the community,” Han said. “We will be playing for seniors in these nursing homes (for the holidays).

According to faculty sponsor James Woomert, club members perform for the community at least once a month. Members sign up for time slots on the club’s website and perform with their friends.

“They just show up and play whatever they want,” Woomert said. “It’s not really an instructional kind of thing, it’s a gathering of people who play instruments.”

Additionally, the club is recruiting new members in order to broaden the playing capacity of the performances.

“It’s not just orchestra, it’s not just band, it’s not just choir,” Woomert said. “We try to bring all of these people together to meet and perform.”
