According to co-president and junior Jessica Chiang, Global Giving is planning on hosting Carmel’s Best Dance Crew, a spinoff of America’s Best Dance Crew, in March this year.
Chiang said last year they donated to the Julian Center in Indianapolis. This year, she hopes that they can donate to Operation Smile, an organization that raises money to give surgeries to kids with cleft palate.
“Basically, the dance groups dance to raise donations. Every year, we usually just end up giving everything, including the prizes, away as donations, so everything goes to charity,” Chiang said.
Sponsor Ryan Ringenberg said Carmel’s Best Dance Crew is an annual event for Global Giving.
“With Carmel’s Best Dance Crew, we are always able to raise close to $1000 dollars, and all of the money goes to a charity that we choose. The money helps a lot for a great cause,” Ringenberg said.
