Club sponsor Wendy Gerardot said she believes most members of Academic Decathlon have been following the study schedule created by herself although senior Pranith Lomada said he is behind and is hoping to use winter break to catch up.
“I’ve studied a reasonable amount. Not exactly where I should be though,” Lomada said.

Gerardot said she isn’t alarmed with the amount of studying completed and thinks everyone will be prepared for the Regional competition on Jan. 19. “We’ll clean up,” Gerardot said. “State is really where we get our competition.”
The State competition will be on Feb. 8 and 9. Lomada said the team has a good chance of making it to State and even to Nationals.
Gerardot said she is still concerned about speeches. “They aren’t close to as polished as I would like,” she said. Lomada is most concerned for the music section of the testing because he said he has studied that the least amount.
Gerardot said, “I know they’ll all get it together by competition though.”
