Creative Writing Club’s literary magazine available

Creative Writing Club has published their literary magazine called Council of the Writing Gods. For most of the school year the club has been working on this literary magazine. It contains works that the club members have written over the past few months. According to Jerry Brickley, club sponsor and English teacher, the magazine is available in his room and the Media Center. The club has helped to compile a literary magazine before, but this is the first one with pieces written solely by the club members.

For the rest of the semester the club is hoping to do some sort of collaboration with Comic Book Club. They will continue to share and critique each others pieces as well as do different types of writing exercises.

“I’d like to regroup and see what they would like to do for the remainder of the semester. I’m thinking lots of plot stuff, lots of activities and especially dialogue. A lot of people in the club are having a struggle with that,” Kinza Abbas, president and junior, said. The club will also take part in formatting the literary magazine comprised of entries from the Creative Writing Contest. This magazine called Reflections should be published in February.

“It’s never too late to join the Creative Writing Club,” Brickley said.
